Keeping IT Real Challenge
Participating teams are expected to use Java and NetBeans along with their software design, programming, creativity and entrepreneurial skills to develop an innovative Java-based Web 2.0 application that best makes IT ‘real’ in addressing issues pertinent to the healthcare industry while promoting interactivity and participation between communities on the Internet. (Note: For Thailand’s participants only, the industries in consideration are healthcare and education.)
Teams are encouraged to develop their application on the Solaris platform. The overall solution is not limited to just Web interfaces but can include other application interfaces as long as they have an element of participation and interactivity.
For Singapore, a maximum of three teams from each institution can enter the challenge. For Malaysia, a maximum of one team from each institution can submit the challenge. There are no limitations to the number of teams that each institution in Thailand can send for the Challenge.
